I am a facilitator in the classroom and it belongs to learners, students and teachers. I view a classroom as one of many resources available to students during their secondary education.
While maintaining my integrity I plan to handover the learning to students. Let them own the experience help them develop their pathways to learning. My philosophy is underpinned by Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences and Bloom’s Taxonomy of higher order thinking. These tools provide an invaluable framework for effective teaching.
I intend to be a teacher who
- engages students with science
- facilitates science relevance with the lives of learners
- develop pathways for a students “life” direction with and without science
